Support at Home and NDIS Funding Questions
What is the NDIS?
The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is an Australian Government program that funds supports for Australians under 65 with a permanent and significant disability. It provides funding for reasonable and necessary supports — including physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and exercise physiology — to help participants achieve their goals and live more independently.
Can I use my NDIS funding for physiotherapy, OT, or exercise physiology?
Yes. If your NDIS plan includes funding for allied health supports, you can use it to access our physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and exercise physiology services. Funding is typically allocated under Improved Daily Living (Capacity Building) for all three services. We work with self-managed, plan-managed, and NDIA-managed participants. Not sure what’s in your plan? Contact us and we’ll help you check.
Do you work with all NDIS plan types?
Yes. We accept self-managed, plan-managed, and NDIA-managed (Agency-managed) participants. We handle all invoicing and administration directly with your plan manager or the NDIA, so you don’t need to worry about the paperwork.

Physiotherapy Questions
What conditions do your physiotherapists treat?
Our physiotherapists treat a wide range of conditions, including stroke and neurological rehabilitation, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, cerebral palsy, acquired brain injury, chronic musculoskeletal pain, arthritis, falls and balance issues, hospital deconditioning, and respiratory conditions such as COPD. We create personalised treatment plans tailored to your NDIS goals.
What happens during a physiotherapy session?
During a session, your physiotherapist works with you one-on-one at your home. This typically includes an assessment of your current abilities, hands-on manual therapy where appropriate, prescribed exercises targeting your specific goals, education about your condition and self-management strategies, and progress monitoring. Your first session includes a comprehensive assessment, and your physiotherapy report is delivered within 2 business days.
What is the difference between physiotherapy and exercise physiology?
Physiotherapy focuses on diagnosing and treating specific injuries, pain, and movement disorders — often involving hands-on manual therapy and targeted rehabilitation. Exercise physiology takes a whole-body, long-term approach, designing ongoing exercise programs to build overall strength, fitness, and mental wellbeing. Physiotherapy treats specific problems; exercise physiology builds long-term capacity. Many NDIS participants benefit from both services working together.
Occupational Therapy Questions
What does an NDIS occupational therapist do?
Our NDIS occupational therapists help participants develop or regain the skills needed to perform everyday activities independently. This includes functional capacity assessments, equipment prescription (wheelchairs, shower chairs, mobility aids), home modification recommendations (grab rails, ramps, bathroom modifications), assistive technology assessments, sensory processing support, and mental health and psychosocial support. OT focuses on practical solutions that improve your safety, independence, and quality of life at home and in the community.
What is a Functional Capacity Assessment (FCA)?
A Functional Capacity Assessment is a detailed evaluation conducted by an occupational therapist to identify your current abilities and limitations across daily living tasks — such as mobility, self-care, communication, and household activities. FCAs are commonly used to support NDIS plan reviews, funding requests, equipment applications, and home modification proposals.
Exercise Physiology Questions
What is NDIS exercise physiology?
Exercise physiology is an allied health service that uses evidence-based exercise to help people manage chronic conditions, disabilities, and mental health challenges. Accredited Exercise Physiologists (AEPs) are university-qualified professionals who design personalised exercise programs to improve strength, fitness, coordination, and overall wellbeing. It is recognised by the NDIS as a funded therapeutic support.
Who benefits from exercise physiology?
Exercise physiology is particularly beneficial for NDIS participants who are new to exercise and need a supportive starting point, those living with chronic fatigue who need carefully graded programs, participants with autism spectrum disorder who benefit from adapted, sensory-aware sessions, and individuals with depression, anxiety, or other mental health conditions where structured exercise improves symptoms. Our exercise physiologists also support participants with intellectual disabilities, neurological conditions, and those recovering from prolonged inactivity.
Can I use my NDIS funding for exercise physiology?
Yes. Exercise physiology is funded under your NDIS plan’s Improved Daily Living (Capacity Building) or Improved Health and Wellbeing categories. We work with self-managed, plan-managed, and NDIA-managed participants. Contact us to check your funding or submit a referral.
Where do exercise physiology sessions take place?
Sessions are flexible and can be held at your home, a local park, a community gym, or an aged care facility — wherever you feel most comfortable and engaged. Our exercise physiologists travel to you across the entire Greater Sydney area.
